About us

A 100-Mile Conversation is a collaborative project designed and run by Nathan Burr and Louis Buckley, which facilitates public conversations around suicide and end of life issues while walking along the 100 miles of the South Downs Way. The original walk took place in April/May 2013 when Nathan and Louis sought to find new ways of thinking about suicide – from the personal to the mystic, the romantic to the scientific, while walking and talking to over twenty experts with different perspectives on end of life issues. A documentary film of this walk was completed in 2019 and is now being screened at ongoing public walks/events organised along the South Downs Way to stimulate debate and raise awareness of landscape, life, death and end of life issues.
